When engines are tuned with higher fuel demands, upgraded HPFPs, and often stiffer valve springs, the added mechanical load can exceed what the VANOS system can consistently control. This results in exhaust cam timing drift under high load or high RPM.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFuel Pressure Instability\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAs cam timing becomes unstable, the HPFP drive events become inconsistent.
